Teen Vogue chatted with Zach Roerig on his sorta creepy family business and what his plans are for the summer Vampire Diaries break. Check out some excerpts below.
It seems like the whole Vampire Diaries cast is having a great time filming down in Atlanta.
Definitely. It's funny: Everyone's constantly trying to get some kind of dirt on the cast but we've known each other for about a year now. If one of us is slipping up a bit or doing something that someone doesn't like, we'll call each other out. It's not that entertaining as far as the juicy gossip goes, but I'm having the best time of my life.
You grew up in a very Vampire Diaries appropriate setting--your father and grandfather made gravestones for a living?
Yeah, my family business was monuments. I'd been doing that since I was able to tie my own work boots. I'm from a really, really small town in Ohio and it was always set up that I was going to be the guy to take over the business. Then in high school, I told my folks I might want to give acting a shot.
You guys have a couple-month break this summer from shooting The Vampire Diaries. Do you have any plans set up yet?
Ideally, I'd like to do a movie. But if I'm not, I'll be in L.A doing some paddle boarding, kayaking, camping, and probably some surfing. I'll go back to Ohio to finish some work on my barn--we have a family barn that's really, really old. I'm going to get it stained barn red and get it painted. This is going to sound really country, but I'd like to get it in an Ohio barn magazine or something. I don't know if there is an Ohio barn magazine--I might even try to get one published.

As we mentioned last month, The Vampire Diaries will be showcased at the
2010 Paleyfest.
The cast and creators will be on hand for a Q&A Saturday March 6. So far Kevin Williamson, Julie Plec, Bob Levy, Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder are all confirmed to be there.
This is an event that's open to the public, so if you'd like to buy tickets visit
paleycenter.org. You can also leave questions on their board for them to ask (it's not guaranteed, though).
Katerina Graham, dressed in a cute black dress, attended the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles Friday (Feb. 26).
Kat presented an award with

Check out the latest from Ask Ausiello on the fate of Damon-Elena. *Warning* Spoilers ahead!
Question: I am dying here without Vampire Diaries! Please give us some scoop on the Damon-Elena relationship because I am loving it! —Ash
Ausiello: Then prepare to love this season's final strong of episodes, which exec producer Julie Plec tells me will be heavily focused on the pair. "We'll see Damon start to look at Elena as more than just his brother's girlfriend or the doppelganger to the love of his life," she reveals. "He'll start to love and understand her as a human being, which is ironic because Damon could typically give a s–t about anything involving humanity. It's some good stuff." - EW
David Anders has signed on to The Vampire Diaries for a multi-episode arc. The former
Heroes and
Alias star will play the role of Johnathan Gilbert, Elena and Jeremy's uncle. No, it's not the same vampire-hunter Jonathon from the flashbacks (why must they confuse us?!). We're guessing he's going to be mingling with the "undeads" of the town. David will make his first appearance in April.
