David Anders has signed on to The Vampire Diaries for a multi-episode arc. The former Heroes and Alias star will play the role of Johnathan Gilbert, Elena and Jeremy's uncle. No, it's not the same vampire-hunter Jonathon from the flashbacks (why must they confuse us?!). We're guessing he's going to be mingling with the "undeads" of the town. David will make his first appearance in April.
